Ad-Hoc Committee of the Secretary-General

Committees

Type: Crisis

About

Join us this April for MUNI's second Ad-Hoc Committee of the Secretary-General, featuring a thrilling crisis committee to challenge advanced delegates.

This committee is intended for delegates with experience in crisis committees, and will require delegates to think on their feet and have strong writing and debate skills. Although prior experience is a recommendation rather than a requirement, we do ask that delegates take the time to understand crisis elements prior to MUNI XXVIII- whether in-house with their advisor or by emailing either the Secretary-General or committee director! We are beyond happy to help prepare delegates.

Delegates will receive multiple clues as to the committee topic as we get closer to MUNI; during Committee Session I the topic and background guide will be provided and delegates will have a 30 minute strategy period before formal debate opens. The dias simultaneously recognizes and endorses the challenge of such a brief preparatory period; the selected topic will be compatible with quick research in a manner that will allow delegates to smoothly transition to debate.

As previously mentioned, this committee will be a Crisis committee; as such delegates should be well-versed or familiar with aspects of directive writing, merging, crisis notes, and timed crisis. Any questions about how to best prepare can be directed to the dias:
